EEC is pleased to announce the addition of nonprofit professional Deborah Vesy and entrepreneur/educator Greg Malkin to its Board of Directors. Deborah will also begin serving as EEC Treasurer. Deborah Vesy served as president and chief executive officer (2002-2020) of the Deaconess Foundation, a private foundation committed to helping Cuyahoga County’s most disadvantaged residents prepare for, secure, and keep jobs. She was appointed in 2016 by Governor John R. Kasich to the Cleveland State University Board of Trustees for a term ending in 2019. She also served as a consultant to the Richard J. Fasenmyer Foundation, a private foundation with a mission focused on entrepreneurship, the arts, and healthcare. Deborah, received her BSBA in Accounting from Youngstown State University. Deborah began her career as a CPA in a major public accounting firm and then served as Vice President and General Manager of a $10 million for-profit business. Greg Malkin served as the Founder and Executive Director of the Young Entrepreneur Institute at University School from 2005 to 2021. During his career as an entrepreneur, Greg started and sold several technology businesses. In 2020, Greg founded Model Landmarks LLC. He graduated from MIT with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and later earned a Masters Degree in Education from Ursuline College. Greg served as a Mathematics teacher at University School. He is the recipient of numerous awards in entrepreneurship education, including the 2010 Teacher of the Year by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship. Greg will bring strategic thinking skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and experience working with growing organizations to EEC. Welcome Deborah and Greg!
