EEC Ohio's Strategic Framework
Entrepreneurship Education Consortium (EEC) is a membership-based network of higher education institutions in Northeast Ohio that pool resources to provide inter-campus entrepreneurship programs to college students.
We seek to grow the membership in the coming years to be able to serve more students and universities. EEC has been successfully implementing hands-on extracurricular entrepreneurship programs including pitch competitions, bootcamps, networking events, and educational sessions for more than a decade. For this pioneering initiative, EEC received the Innovative Pedagogy for Entrepreneurship Education award from USASBE in 2010.

The network is now positioned to expand its membership and capacity to become the region’s hub for collegiate entrepreneurship, as recommended by a two-year ecosystem assessment process initiated by Burton D. Morgan Foundation. EEC often provides the first entrepreneurial experience to college students representing all majors and has developed a committed network of contacts on each campus.
In 2022, EEC embraced its role as an entrepreneurship teaching organization, added new offerings, broadened its board structure, and connected more deliberately with the broader entrepreneurial community. |

For 2022-2025, EEC is adopting an aggressive strategy focused on:
- Enhancing collegiate entrepreneurship and innovation to promote expanded collaboration within the youth, collegiate, and adult ecosystems
- Coordinating programs among Northeast Ohio colleges and universities to grow ventures, instill the entrepreneurial mindset, match students to entrepreneurial opportunities and internships
- Serving the talent needs of the business community
- Creating a pipeline of graduates steeped in the entrepreneurial mindset
We will seek and work with a wide array of partners to achieve this vision by developing a network of shared events and learning opportunities across universities, businesses and our online hub to be launched in 2023. EEC will connect to stakeholders through its online and in-person network for everything students need to pursue entrepreneurship in Northeast Ohio.
EEC will elevate and enhance its profile as a key ecosystem partner that connects aspiring entrepreneurs across the full youth, collegiate, and adult ecosystems through strategic partnerships.
All partnerships will establish key metrics to measure progress toward goals. EEC will operate with a lens focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its partnerships and programs.
