Dear EEC Friends & Supporters,
Amidst rousing applause on April 11, our ideaLabs entrepreneurs took full advantage of Eaton Corporation’s elegant Beachwood headquarters to deliver their well-rehearsed pitches. Fifteen years ago, ideaLabs offered its first regional pitch competition for Northeast Ohio university students. Over the years, the competition has grown in scope and sophistication, offering the opportunity for students to compete for prize money, deliver their pitches before experienced judges, and receive constructive feedback. The Tech Side Hustle Fall '23 graduation and Spring '24 kickoff at CWRU's Sears thinkBox celebrated graduating students and welcomed the new cohort. The entrepreneurial event inspired students embarking on an exciting journey in the comprehensive part-time accelerator that provides workshops, expert guidance, and funding opportunities.
UARF's I-Corps program offers entrepreneurs a 7-week virtual platform to validate ideas through customer discovery, refine strategies, and build connections; applications for the summer 2024 cohort exploring markets and conducting 21+ interviews are open now through May 19th.
EEC Ohio celebrates 17 years building an ecosystem where thirteen universities collaborate to deliver combined entrepreneurship programs challenging norms and bringing students together to explore ventures, ideas, and soft skills like teamwork, empathy, and problem solving. EEC Ohio is working with a team from Cleveland Bridge Builders, a leadership development program, on an alumni engagement strategy. The team of seven rising professionals will explore ways for EEC to build an alumni network of participants from EEC programs since 2007. This will help grow an untapped resource to build EEC's capacity for the future.

Humble leaders, who admit they don't have all the answers, create space for people to learn and innovate. Humility fosters curiosity and trust, critical for entrepreneurial environments. It is a key leadership quality that enables the open, fearless culture needed for innovation to thrive.
